For the past few years I have made my niece mittens for Christmas. She paints her hand on a piece of paper with the design being what she wants her new mittens to look like. This year the design was a red heart on pink background. I hope she doesn´t mind a few more hearts!
The mittens are knit in the round in fairisle technique. Prevent long floats by weaving in the yarn you are not working with every 3 to 4 stitches.
You´ll need less than 50g of sport weight yarn in two colours and a 3-mm circular needle or double-point needles. The mittens are knit in a tight gauge to make sure they are warm.
