Grove Shawl

Grove is a comfortable, classic shawl – the kind you can wear anywhere. It is worked in relaxing garter stitch with I-cord-style edges, and with contrasting horizontal lines incorporated as you knit. After the shawl is bound off, vertical lines are added using a surface crochet technique, for a timeless plaid effect perfectly suited for the office, for the outdoors, or even for relaxing at home by candlelight. One of the great things about this pattern is that it is versatile: while fingering weight yarn is recommended, you can also use something a little heavier, such as DK weight, for a quicker result.
