The Grasmere beanie conjures up the image of a Lake District landscape in spring, with carpets of native daffodils turning their yellow glowing heads to the sun. The focus of the design, is indeed, daffodils dancing around the circumference of the hat, with stylised leaves creating a stunning decorative pattern. The crown of the hat, features a sun burst shining down on the glorious narcissi.
A striped corrugated ribbed welt is the starting point before the stranded colourwork pattern commences. The pattern is worked in the round using stranded colourwork throughout with no more than two colours in any one row and is shown on a full colour chart with all crown shaping included.
The pattern includes instructions for four adult sizes to ensure a perfectly fitting beanie
The sample is knitted using our Susan Crawford Vintage Bluem fingering weight yarn (100% Bluefaced Leicester wool), in five colours
