About this Design:When visiting the Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve in Newfoundland, Canada, I took many photos of the tiny plants growing there. Paging through them later I came across the photo that was the inspiration for this piece. In the photo is a dark grey rock that has white patterns on it from lichen. It appeared as if the rock was covered in fancy lace work, columns of eyelets and flower buds, almost like a Faberge egg. Right beside the rock was a tiny succulent plant with leaves of a beautiful red.

The design on the rock and plant colour inspired this design and I found a stitch pattern that looks like a Faberge egg sitting on a base designed to look like a flower.
