Filet Lace Straight Version
This pretty headband can be knitted in cotton, bamboo, wool or man made DK yarn, to suit any season and any size from child to adult. It is worked in one piece with a short seam at the back. The Filet Lace Headband pattern is suitable for knitters with experience of:
- knit
- purl
- slip and knit through back loop stitches
- yarn round needle yarn over increases.
The pattern contains links to support sheets on how to calculate yarn amounts, and photographs of stitch variations and how to work with yrn yo.
In the photographs, my model has a 56cm (22 inch) head size and is wearing: The green band which measures 50cm/19.5ins was knitted on 3.75mm needles using 18g/38m Patons Cotton DK). The yellow band which measures 46cm/18 ins was knitted on 3.5mm needles using 15g/30m Wendy Cotton Supreme DK). (A two eyelet band, not shown, 46cm/ 18ins long used 12g/24m of Wendy Cotton Supreme DK.)
