The Clematis Socks are worked from the cuff down with a heel flap. The heel flap is knitted with a reinforced stitch pattern for more durability and stability and it has a special pattern with purl and slip stitches. The gusset decreases are cleverly hidden on the sole so that the elegant cable pattern is not affected. This sophisticated cable pattern runs throughout the sock.
I usually make the heel and foot of my socks a little tighter to get a better fit.
A few small adjustments for size and fit are possible, the instructions for this can be found in the pattern (sock height, foot length and heel flap).
You can use any 4-ply sock yarn, but I would suggest using only single-color and light-colored sock yarns for these socks, or light-colored hand-dyed yarns. Otherwise the cable pattern will be difficult to see.
The pattern is written for the use of double-pointed needles or circular needles.
