This is a pattern for a pair of mittens with a cabling motif worked in the round and from the cuff up. You may easily change the size by adding or subtracting sts as you need in multiples of 5 and working more or less rounds as needed for best fit. (any changes may result in changes to yarn amounts) This pattern is charted with some written explanation.
