I have given my button-up hooded cardigan a dinosaur theme, by adding knitted spikes down the centre back, and an adorable little tail! These are knitted separately and sewn on to the finished garment. The project is sized to fit babies and toddlers aged from birth to five years, and would make a fun gift for any little one. It’s knitted in King Cole, Big Value (50g) DK a machine-washable acrylic yarn.
With very simple shaping this would make a great first garment project!
The pattern includes instructions for knitting the spikes in the round and flat.
