These baby bib shorts are both practical and adorable with a heart motif which is worked separately and sewn on, so no need for intarsia work. Worked in aran weight cotton, the bib shorts fasten with buttons at shoulder straps and side waistband. Can be worn over a long sleeve T-shirt and tights on cold days and just a vest on warmer days. We use grey and red, a classic colour combination or can be worked in any colour combination of your choice, with or without the heart.
This is a straightforward knit, relying on just knit and purl stitches and should suit an advanced beginner as the motif is worked separately. I like to make my motifs detachable so I can reuse the bib short for another baby, maybe next time I will make a red fire truck instead of heart.
We have used Debbie Bliss Cashmerino and the bib shorts would work well in any other soft handle aran weight or substantial DK yarn.
