There are charts for the set up rounds of the head and gills, and the tail frill. When made with DK weight yarn (Sample 1 is made in Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK) and 3.0mm hook the finished Axolotl will measure about 24cm/9 ½in long. When made in Chunky textured yarn with 5mm hook the sample measures about 50cm/19in long. The pattern can be made in a variety of yarn combinations and will look great in solid, speckled or variegated yarns. The yarn amounts for the three samples are listed in the pattern.
