As summer gets underway there are days when the last thing I want on my lap is an entire sweater. But a hat? That's perfect for late summer.

The Algonquin Hat is a simple beanie with just a touch of slouch. The combination of texture and color is striking, but easy. I've played with this detail to connect the ribbing to texture - you only see this on the blue hat since I added it into the pattern after finishing the gray one. (ahem) It's relaxing summer knitting.

As always, the Plucky is a dream to work with. Both the Primo or the Bello are soft, with great stitch definition and the perfect amount of drape for this kind of hat. Plus, let's be honest - this is ALL about the color mixing. And you just can't beat Plucky for gorgeous color combos.

I've written the pattern for either Sport or Worsted weight yarn. Instructions are included to modify for width or depth should you want to alter the size or play with a different yarn weight.

Other listed yarns are suggested substitutes.
