This is a view across the River Thames, looking towards Westminster Bridge and The Houses of Parliament. When you look from directly in front of the illusion the view disappears and you see only stripes.
I used Stylecraft Special DK in Midnight and Silver (about 420 metres of each). The illusion measures about 84 cm by 58 cm (33 inches by 23 inches). It could be used as a wall hanging or as the centre for a throw or bedspread. Illusions work in any thickness of yarn. but using a different yarn may change the overall size.
Illusion knitting is much easier than it looks. The pattern has several versions of the chart including one specially designed for phone and tablet users.
