This is the yarn that the pattern is written for, interesting to see the two side by side made with different wool, I don’t often do the same thing twice, have to say that the crofter wool was easier to sew up as it is softer.

Well, I'll be an outlier here. Usually, it seems to be an excellent idea to use the yarn recommended by the designer. But I liked your first version (the apple green and grey/blue) WAAAYYY better.

They both look lovely, very different but equally beautiful, the one knitted in the crofter yarn has that added effect. Your knitting is beautiful too,your niece will be delighted with them both. 😊
