The stitches used create an interesting texture. The pattern is written so that you can use any yarn weight and adjust to size by measurements. The yarn I used is Malabrigo Rios, 210 yards (100 grams) per skein of worsted weight merino superwash wool. 1 skein of color Coco was used for the ribbed band. Approximately ⅓ of the skein was used. 1 skein of the color Marte was used for the body of the hat. I used the entire skein. I used approx 280 yards total of my yarn. Circumference = 20 inches. Length = 9.25 inches. My finished hat fits a men’s 23 inch head. I used a H8/5mm hook. My gage was 8 herringbone hdc x 6 rows = 2 x 2. You’ll also need scissors, stitch markers and a darning needle.
