Ederlezi is the name of the spring festival of the Balkan Roma. The song Ederlezi by Dikanda inspired me to write this pattern. The socks symbolize the long swinging colourful skirts of the Roma women. The skirts are made of different layers of fabric. In the leg of Ederlezi socks 3 lace segments are contrasted by colorwork sequences. You may wish to knit Ederlezi with powerful colors and strong contrasts. At the end of the foot the lace sequence is picked up again, ending up with a star toe. Instructions for the heel are not given. You can knit your favourite heel.
