Product Description
Earth Shawl is a crescent-shaped knitting shawl inspired by the Mapuche people, whose name means people of the earth. Part of my People of the Earth collection, this design pays tribute to their deep connection with nature and their understanding of the land as something we belong to, rather than own.
Worked from the top down, the shawl gradually grows into a graceful crescent before being finished with a knitted-on perpendicular edging that creates a distinctive border.
The pattern includes fully written instructions, step-by-step video tutorials for the special techniques, and is available in both English and Spanish as separate PDF files. Designed for intermediate knitters, Earth Shawl is an enjoyable project that combines simple lace, texture, and an elegant construction inspired by traditional craftsmanship.
