Vilja Scarf Knitting Pattern - Chunky Scarf

This chunky scarf is a beginner friendly project. The pattern features an easy variation of a half brioche knitting stitch, which creates lovely chunky and squishy texture. This pattern includes pictures on how to create provisional crochet cast on & how to knit the half brioche stitch.

Techniques:

* Provisional crochet cast on

* Knitting & purling

* Bind off

Size: One size (adjustable). Finished size: Approx. width 8.5 inches x length 61 inches (22 cm x 155 cm)

Gauge: 9 sts & 12 rows / 4 x 4 inches (10 cm x 10 cm) in the half brioche stitch.

Yarn: Weight 6 bulky yarn with matching gauge

Suggested needles & Other Materials:

* Ribbing: US15 / 10 mm straight knitting needles OR 24”/60 cm circular knitting needles according to your preference.

* Size N-13 (9 mm) Crochet hook for provisional cast on.

* Tapestry needle.
