Simple Cable knit fingerless gloves

This pattern is the perfect introduction to cable knitting, an ideal project for an advanced beginner/Intermediate level knitter..

You will need to know how to: Knit. Purl. Cast on using both the knitted method & thumb method. Increase stitches by knitting/purling into the front & back loop of a stitch. Decrease stitches by knitting/purling 2 stitches together. Instructions are given on how to execute your cable stitches. This pattern is currently in a size small - medium, fitting a palm circumference of up to about 21cm/8".

The gloves are worked flat, back & forth. A circular or straight needles can be used (I prefer using a circular for gloves as it enables me to check the fit as I'm working). Additional materials needed: A cable needle, stitch markers (to mark where your knit & purl stitches end). Embroidery scissors (to cut yarn ends), darning needle for weaving in ends.
