Quilt Design Overview

The Lucy's Stars quilt is composed of several distinct design sections that work together to create a cohesive, medallion-inspired layout:

• Center Block: A single central block that anchors the design, using a dedicated center block fabric along with background fabric for contrast.

Half Square Triangles (HSTs)

Flying Geese Units

In this pattern, Flying Geese are constructed using the stitch-and-flip method: marked 3" background squares are placed right sides together (RST) on the ends of a 3" x 5½" rectangle, stitched on the diagonal line, trimmed, and pressed back. The process is repeated on the opposite end to complete each unit. The pattern calls for multiple colorway combinations of Flying Geese:

• Unit C: 8 background goose / block color sky of each of 4 colors
• Unit D: 16 block color goose / background sky of each of 4 colors

Block Assembly and Layout
