Rainbrioche Shawl

RAINBRIOCHE is a large crescent shaped shawl that can be wrapped around the neck several times. The pattern combines  ribbed stripes  with brioche knitting. The right side features small colorful stripes and a straight brioche pattern. The edge pattern gives the shawl its feminine design.

What is the idea about this shawl? It´s all about colors -  I started with a skein of speckled yarn which combined many different colors -  then I was looking for matching colors in my stash and arranged them as a rainbow.  The shawl is made of two skeins of fingering weight yarn by Madelinetosh: a light speckled color, a bright red color for the edge section and colorful leftovers.  Due to its symmetrical shape, you don´t have to count too much and above all the pattern allows some mindless knitting to travel with ... and I love to wear it!
