Ever since becoming a mom, my wardrobe has changed considerably. Instead of sipping lattes in pretty heels and sophisticated dry clean only tops, I am now most likely to be found toddler chasing in a pair of yoga pants or jeans at my local playground.
Rather than giving in to my new wardrobe reality, I designed Playdate. The pleated pattern (created using a simple slip stitch technique) and slouchy silhouette of this hat makes my new casual wardrobe look fashion forward and is the perfect accessory to make me look like one of those super-mom types.

This project requires US #3/3.25 mm and US #5/3.75 mm circular needles in 16-inch length for the main hat body, along with US #5/3.75 mm double-point needles for the crown decreases. The yarn specified is Madelinetosh Tosh DK, a 100% Superwash Merino Wool available in 225-yard (206-meter) skeins per 100 grams. The sample shown is worked in the color Sequoia, and approximately 1 skein of yarn is required to complete the project. The DK weight yarn paired with the specified needle sizes creates a fabric with excellent drape and elasticity suitable for a comfortable, wearable hat.
