Milho scarflet

Use almost any yarn! This pattern is graded for 4ply, sport and DK weight yarns.

The scarf is worked flat from tip to tip.

Stitches are cast on using long-tail cast-on method.

Increases shape the first tip.

You then work straight for a certain length before making decreases to shape the second tip. Close attention has been paid to where the increases and decreases lie so that they follow the direction of the cables very nicely, which makes it very satisfying!

‘Milho’ means sweetcorn in Portuguese. We moved to Portugal a few years ago and this mini scarf pays homage to the humble sweetcorn. I think the little moss stitch cable motifs look just like a corn on the cob!

Milho Scarflet can be made in many different weights of yarn and the width varies slightly with your yarn choice and gauge.
