What Is Being Made

Legacy is a knitted wrap shawl designed as a timeless, one-piece garment with minimal finishing required. This shawl is dedicated in loving memory of Grandma Ellie and celebrates the beauty of variegated and tonal yarns through strategic stitch placement. The finished piece combines stockinette sections with textured stitch patterns to create visual depth and interest that highlights color variation in the yarn.

Knitting Techniques

This pattern employs several fundamental knitting techniques suitable for beginners:

• Yarn overs (yo) and decreases (k2tog and ssk) create decorative lace-like elements along the edges and throughout the design
• Stockinette stitch forms the base of the shawl, providing a smooth, classic fabric
