Larissa’s Hat was inspired by the fabulous fur hat worn by the character Lara in the tragic love story Dr Zhvago. When I first saw the Arequipa Fur, my first instinct was to rub it on my face. Oh how soft it was. I immediately imagined a hat inspired by the hats worn by Larissa during the cold Russian winters. She is known as Lara in the movie, but her proper name is Larissa. Since I have not seen the movie, I felt it better to use her proper name until we are acquainted. Unlike the complicated and tragic romance of Larissa and Dr. Zhvago, this hat has a straight forward construction resulting in a very warm and stylish hat. Larissa’s Hat and the Lady’s Knight Mitts were made to complement each other, so be sure complete your winter ensemble by making a matching pair.
