A simple solid-colored vest that looks good with many outfits. Instructions given for DK and worsted weight.

Materials, DK Weight

• 695 (775, 825, 900, 960, 1165) yards dk weight yarn
• Knitting needles sizes 4 & 6 (or size needed to obtain gauge)
• 4 stitch holders
• 2 ring markers
• Gauge: 20 sts, 26 rows = 4” in stockinette st.; 22 sts, 32 rows = 4” in pattern st. on larger size needles

Materials, Worsted Weight

• 595 (640, 690, 770, 800, 960) yards worsted weight yarn
• Knitting needles sizes 6 & 8 (or size needed to obtain gauge)
• 4 stitch holders
• 2 ring markers
• Gauge: 17 sts, 23 rows = 4” in stockinette st.; 18 sts., 26 rows = 4” in pattern st. on larger size needles
