Product Description
This is a quick and easy cable knit headband. It has I-cord strings, garter stitch for texture to increase the stitches, and a cable knit pattern for the body, which is repeated to fit your specific length. I used fingering weight yarn from my stash.
I have designed this headband to look like circular chains linked together. Sirkelkjeder is Norwegian for circle chains.

What is Being Made
The Circle Chains Headband, also known as Sirkelkjeder (Norwegian for "circle chains"), is a knitted headband designed to feature a decorative cable knit pattern that resembles linked circular chains. This is a quick and easy project suitable for crafters of all skill levels, making it an ideal choice for using up yarn from your stash or creating thoughtful handmade gifts. The finished headband measures 28 inches (71 cm) in total length, with I-cord edges measuring 6 inches (15 cm) on each side and a body section of 16 inches (41 cm).
Techniques Used
This headband is worked flat using the knit flat construction method, with odd rows worked on the right side (RS) and even rows worked on the wrong side (WS). The design incorporates cable knit techniques to create the distinctive linked chain appearance. I-cord edging is used on both sides of the headband to create finished, decorative borders. The combination of these techniques produces a structured, professional-looking accessory that lies flat while maintaining visual interest through the textured cable pattern.
Stitches Used
The primary stitch work focuses on cable knit stitches, which form the central design element of the headband. The cable pattern creates the illusion of circular chains linked together, making this an excellent beginner-friendly introduction to cable knitting. I-cord construction is used for the edging, which involves working a small tube of knitting that frames the main body of the headband.
Materials Required
