The name Cardiida is the family name of a sea shell called cockle. A friend sent me some pictures from the beach of these and so the name was found because the final shawls looks like these.

This pattern is a good option to practice brioche knitting and understanding the principle of one color brioche knitting and two color brioche knitting technique.

I want to show you step by step how easy and meditative brioche knitting can be. The border used some brioche increase to create a tiny decorative pattern in this part.

Yarn 3 Skeins of different color of a fingering yarn by Greenery, 400m/ 437yards per 100g, e.g. Merino-Nylon (55% Wool – Merino 15% Nylon) or a fingering yarn which gives you required gauge.
