Product Description
We don’t usually think of the dead of winter as a time to knit ethereal lace, but isn’t it nice to have a reminder that warmer days are just around the corner?
The theme of this installment is renewal, and I delved into not only old shops but vintage buttons, but old books for the stitch patterns used in this design. Old things respectfully used in a new way make my heart sing. I hope you feel the same.
This time, the crescent shape looks whimsically like a crescent roll about to be rolled up! This piece casts on in a corner and grows in a diagonal manner. You will notice that most of the charts feature increases that lean toward the right side. The beaded borders that you see along both long sides feature a fern-like design that is very subtly shaped by the waving stitch pattern. The stitch pattern in the center section, a modification of one found in a book entitled Florence Knitting Silk No. 4, published in 1892, cascades in columns. The ending diagonal edge is a scallope
