Product Description
About the design:
This blanket took many months of designing and polishing and was tested multiple times by multiple wonderful ladies credited in the pattern.
I created this blanket design to be suitable for young boys as a snuggle blanket on the couch or during nap time as it measures 1.3 m x 1.3 m. It can easily also be the perfect ‘no holes’ baby blanket if done with sport weight/baby yarn and a 3 mm - 3.5 mm crochet hook. Of course it can also be suitable for any young lady by simply changing the color way.

All Thrills no Frills Blanket by Crochet Sanity Sanctuary
Project Overview
The All Thrills no Frills Blanket is a versatile crochet design created by independent designer Crochet Sanity Sanctuary. This intermediate-level project produces a finished blanket measuring 1.3 meters by 1.3 meters, making it ideal as a snuggle blanket for couch use or nap time. The design is intentionally gender-neutral and suitable for young children of any gender through simple color customization.
What Is Being Made
This pattern creates a cozy, child-sized blanket with a "no holes" construction, meaning the fabric is densely worked without openwork sections. The blanket serves multiple purposes: as a comfort item for young boys, as a baby blanket when worked in lighter yarn weights, or as a decorative throw for children of any age. The square format and substantial finished size make it a practical heirloom-quality piece suitable for regular use and washing.
Yarn and Materials
The pattern is designed with flexibility in mind and works with any yarn type and color way of your choice. For standard sizing at 1.3 m x 1.3 m, DK weight yarn is recommended. For a baby blanket variation with a tighter, more secure fabric, the designer suggests using sport weight or baby yarn paired with a 3 mm to 3.5 mm crochet hook. This adaptability allows crafters to use yarn from their stash or select colors that match their intended recipient's preferences.
Crochet Techniques and Stitches
This intermediate-level crochet project employs fundamental crochet techniques suitable for crafters with basic to intermediate experience. The pattern uses English U.S.A. crochet terminology, making it accessible to English-speaking crocheters. The "no holes" construction indicates the use of solid, tightly-worked stitches rather than lacy or openwork patterns, creating a dense, durable fabric ideal for a child's blanket that will withstand frequent use and laundering.
Design Philosophy
Designer Crochet Sanity Sanctuary created this pattern with the philosophy that quality crochet designs should work with any yarn available to the crafter, rather than requiring specific luxury yarns. Based in South Africa, the designer draws inspiration from international yarns while ensuring patterns remain accessible to crafters worldwide. The blanket's straightforward construction and flexible yarn requirements reflect this inclusive design approach, allowing crafters to create a beautiful, functional piece regardless of their yarn access or budget.
