The pattern is written in U.S. crochet terminology. Gauge is measured with yarn held double at 14 single crochet stitches and 24 rows equaling 4 inches (10 cm). The first round measures 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) across. Hook size should be adjusted as needed to match the specified gauge.
