The Winterfest Socks were initially inspired by one of my most loved sock designs - the Fairground Socks. With the Winterfest Socks, I wanted to create a design that would have all the wonderful feelings of that pattern, but be perfect for a tonal yarn.
The socks feature a beautiful lace motif, that creates a pretty undulating pattern. This brought to mind mountains, and that then led to the name.
At this time of year we love to watch as many Hallmark movies as we can. Many of these feature pretty towns, often below a mountain range.
You can always rely on some kind of a 'fest' being celebrated in these movies, so the Winterfest Socks it had to be!
The pattern comes in 3 sizes and is both written and charted. The instructions are written for the magic loop method but other methods can of course be used.
The pattern sample is knitted using Malabrigo Ultimate Sock in shade 'Ravelry Red'.
