What is Being Made

Construction Techniques

The Sympatico cardigan employs a strategic construction method that combines efficiency with shaping precision. The body is worked in one continuous piece from the lower edge up to the underarm, eliminating the need for multiple seams in this section. Once the underarm is reached, the back and front pieces are separated and worked independently to the neckline, allowing for customized shaping at the neck opening. The sleeves are knitted as separate pieces and then sewn into the armholes after the shoulder seams are completed. The collar is added as a final finishing element, worked after all shoulder seams are secured. All pattern pieces are worked back and forth on a circular needle, which provides stability and comfort during the knitting process. Shaping decreases are positioned 2 stitches away from the edges to create clean, professional-looking finished seams.
