Micro Bee with Flower Crochet Pattern by Sankatoys
What Is Being Made
The Micro Bee with Flower is a miniature crocheted amigurumi toy designed by Oksana Berejshik of Sankatoys. This tiny bee figure is crafted to be worked in extremely fine yarn, creating a delicate, detailed toy suitable for collectors or as decorative pieces. The pattern includes the bee design paired with a complementary flower element.
Difficulty Level and Skill Requirements
This pattern is intended for experienced crocheters and is not suitable for beginners. The pattern does not cover basic crochet fundamentals, assuming the crocheter already possesses solid technical skills. The difficulty rating is intermediate when using thicker yarn, but becomes advanced when working with thin or cobweb-weight yarn. The use of ultra-fine yarn significantly increases the complexity due to the precision required in stitch placement and tension control.
Techniques and Stitches Used
While specific stitch names are not detailed in the pattern documentation provided, the project employs standard amigurumi construction techniques. These typically include:
- Single crochet as the primary stitch for creating dense, structured fabric
- Increases and decreases for shaping the bee's body, head, and limbs
- Stuffing and assembly methods for three-dimensional toy construction
- Fine detail work requiring precision with ultra-thin yarn
The advanced difficulty when using cobweb-weight yarn demands exceptional control over tension and stitch consistency throughout the project.
Materials and Yarn Specifications
The Micro Bee with Flower pattern calls for cobweb and lace-weight yarn, which represents some of the finest yarn available for crochet work. The designer, Oksana Berejshik, uses thin Slonim brand yarn (a cotton and acrylic blend) with approximately 1500 meters per 100 grams, demonstrating the extreme fineness of the recommended material.
Color requirements include:
- Yellow (for the bee's body)
- White (for details and the flower)
- Embroidery floss in 1-2 thread weights for fine details and facial features
Crochet hooks appropriate for cobweb-weight yarn (typically size 6/1.6mm or smaller) are necessary, though the specific hook size is not detailed in the provided documentation. Standard amigurumi supplies such as fiberfill stuffing and a tapestry needle for assembly and finishing are also required.
