Mathilde Selbu Mittens

The Mathilde Selbu Mittens have a cute ruffle along the cuff, and a floral pattern on the hand and the thumb. They are deisgned according to the Norwegian Selbu mitten tradition (with the exception of the cuff), with gusseted thumb, tapered/pointed tip, and a post (1-5 sts) running uninterrupted along the sides of the thumb and hand.

The pattern is both written and charted, and it is designed in accordance with the Norwegian Selbu mitten tradition. Several techniques are explained with photos, including a stitch-by-stitch for the start of the thumb. There's also a section with tips and explanations for how to achieve the best result.
