Hideaway Socks are unisex knitted socks designed to provide comfort and coziness with an ultra-cushy feel. The pattern is available in three sizes to fit foot circumferences up to 7½ (9, 10½)" / 19 [23, 26.5] cm, with finished leg and foot circumferences of 6 (7½, 9)" / 15 [19, 23] cm. These socks are ideal for anyone seeking a comfortable, well-fitting sock that works for various foot sizes.

Knitting Techniques

Hideaway Socks are worked using the top-down construction method, a popular technique for sock knitting that allows knitters to start at the cuff and work downward toward the toe. This approach provides flexibility in sock length and makes it easy to try on the socks as you knit. The pattern is primarily written for the double pointed needle (DPN) method, which uses a set of four or five needles to work in the round. However, the pattern also accommodates the Magic Loop method, an alternative circular knitting technique that uses a single long circular needle, giving knitters the choice of their preferred working method.

The sample shown was knitted in Fiberphile MCN Luxe Sock in the "Sakura" colorway, a high-quality sock yarn composed of 80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere, and 10% nylon, offering both durability and luxury fiber content.

Needles

The pattern calls for US 2 (2.5 mm) double pointed needles, or the size needed to obtain the specified gauge. Knitters using the Magic Loop method would use a circular needle of the same gauge instead of DPNs.
