Cascade 220 is 100% Peruvian highland wool, 219yds (200m) per skein, knitting to 18–20 stitches over 10cm on 4.50mm–5.00mm (US 7–US 8) needles; recommended crochet hooks 4.50mm (G) to 5.00mm (H).
It is a firm, round, hard-wearing wool with the stitch definition that cables and textured patterns need, and it blooms and evens out after blocking. That durability, alongside one of the widest shade ranges available in a plain wool, is why it is a standing choice for colorwork, blankets and garments meant to last.

Great for colorwork projects
I like the lovely color range. I use it for colorwork projects. I'm using it for the nocturnal sweater by Saskie in three colors. It will felt a bit with time, which is good for colorwork. It is not my first and certainly not my last time using this yarn.

I am a huge fan of Cascade 220, both heathered and not heathered shades. I must have knitted at least a dozen jumpers and cardigans in them. They are my usual choice of yarn for hats and leg/wrist warmers I gift as Christmas or winter birthday presents. The yarn works well on 4.5 to 5.5 mm needles, depending on what tension and look you prefer. Each skein is a great value for money with some 200m of soft, pure wool - it certainly goes a long way. Yarn is easy to knit. I love the color choices and it is a nice 100% wool, worseted weight yarn. Does not felt if you have no alternative but to use a washing machine when you go to wash and block using cold water. This yarn is very forgiving when you work with it and need to frog to correct mistakes.
Wonderful to knit with. Have knit 2 hats with Cascade. Wonderful to touch and colors are amazing!

Beautiful stitch definition, no fuzzing, and has great loft and bounce. Would definitely purchase again! Bought this yarn as a substitute for Knitpicks's High Desert wool yarn (worsted weight) for their Briar Hoodie pattern, am very happy with my purchase and it shipped quickly. Thank you!
