Product Description
Hello,
This pattern is for a cute little Witch. Inspired by a lack of cute witches, Wanda is the first witch in my Bewitched collection. The pattern features a knitted cobweb style skirt peplum. A bodice that uses duplicate stitch and a little single crochet around the skirt edge and chain stitch on sleeves. The crochet can be changed for extra knit rows, and is explained on pattern. The pattern is not difficult but some basic knitting skills are desirable. The pattern uses 3mm needles and dk yarn. I hope you enjoy knitting her, but please get in touch if you need any help to understand the pattern. Thanks!
A Witch Called Wanda Knitted Doll Pattern
What is Being Made
A Witch Called Wanda is a charming knitted doll designed by Stella Jones, part of the "Bewitched" collection. This decorative doll measures 13.5 inches tall from toe to top of head, with a 7.5-inch waist circumference and 4.5-inch leg length to the bottom of the boot. The doll features a complete witch-themed outfit including a witches hat, custom bodice, embellished sleeves and skirt, and a distinctive cobweb-style peplum accent. The pattern is beginner-friendly and suitable for crafters of all ages looking to create a treasured keepsake doll with a Halloween or witchy aesthetic.
Techniques Used
This knitting pattern incorporates several construction and embellishment techniques to bring Wanda to life. The doll features a new bodice pattern specifically designed for the upper body structure, ensuring proper fit and shaping. The sleeves and skirt utilize a crochet trim edge technique, adding delicate detailing and texture to these garment components. A standout design element is the cobweb-style peplum, which adds visual interest and thematic flair to the witch outfit. The pattern encourages creative customization, suggesting the addition of a broom crafted from pipe cleaners to complete the witch aesthetic.
Stitches and Construction
While specific stitch-by-stitch instructions are referenced in the pattern document, the design employs fundamental knitting techniques appropriate for beginner-level crafters. The crochet trim edges indicate the integration of basic crochet stitches alongside knitting, making this a mixed-technique project that introduces crafters to both skills. The structured bodice and fitted garment pieces suggest the use of shaping techniques such as increases and decreases to create the doll's proportions and clothing silhouette.

This pattern uses Stylecraft Special DK yarn in multiple colors to create Wanda's complete look:
