Riley Rose Cowl is a 3-colored cowl based on the stitch patterns in my Riley Rose shawl. It is an easy to knit cowl project, worked in the round. Best of all, the stitch patterns and colors change just often enough to keep you from getting bored!

Needle Requirements: This project uses two sizes of needles to achieve proper fabric structure and gauge:
- US 5 (3.75mm) needles: Used for ribbing or edging, one size smaller than the body needles
- US 6 (4.0mm) needles: Used for the main body of the cowl to obtain proper gauge; 32-inch circular needles are sufficient for working in the round
Gauge: The pattern is worked to a gauge of 25 stitches and 40 rounds per 4 inches when measured in Garter Stitch on US 6 needles. Achieving proper gauge is essential for obtaining the finished dimensions of 24 inches circumference by 28 inches height.
