Garter Swirl Snood

150 yards of super bulky yarn & a few hours of knitting will yield a beautiful accessory to combat winter’s worst. Choose a yarn that is light & lofty, & soft next to your skin. Variegated yarns will come alive in these stitch patterns, which are all simple knit - purl combinations. This piece begins & ends with a border of “offset garter” - a knit & purl combination which gives an effect of striped garter stitch. The main body of the snood uses the same knit-purl combination, but lets it travel across the knitted fabric, giving a swirled effect to the garter rib.
