Jorunn

Jorunn (yor-Un) was the name of my maternal great-grandmother, who was a wonderful knitter in the Icelandic tradition. Jorunn is a sideways shawlette, designed to use up most of your skein. Weigh it at the start and increase until you’re halfway through, then decrease.

Finished Size: 18x56” once blocked

Yarn: Dragonfly Fibers Dragon Sock, 100% Superwash Merino, 390 yards/4 ounces (Sample knit in Denali).

Needles: 24” circular needle size 6 US (4.00 mm), or size to obtain gauge

Gauge: 18 stitches/ 28 rows per 4 inches in wet-blocked stockinette. Gauge is not critical for this item, but it will affect drape and amount of yarn used.
