Bananarama Socks

These socks were inspired by a conversation with my daughter. I'd just given her a finished pair of my Short and Sweet Socks that are themed on strawberries, and she said how fun it would be to have banana inspired socks! Of course I immediately dyed up some yarn and got to designing. She wanted the socks to look like a slightly underripe banana, so I added little green speckles. The stitch pattern is intended to resemble the ridges on a banana and is intuitive and addictive to knit.

The socks are worked cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset and my Umbrella Toe. The yarn used is a fingering weight. The pattern is written for the magic loop method, but you can of course use your preferred method.
