Product Details
The Doolin Beanie takes its name from the famous Doolin village in Co. Clare, Ireland – where ferry boats sail across to Inis Oírr, the smallest of the Aran Islands and where I am proud to come from! The hat features richly textured cables which rise from the ribbing to come together at the crown.
The hat is knit in the round, using 2 sizes of circular needles. 2 cable needles are required to work the cables on the crossing rows, but apart from those rows, it is an easy knit, suitable for intermediate knitters. Four sizes are provided, along with guidance on knitting an even larger (or smaller) size. The cabling makes this hat a great reversible beanie too!
Any Aran or worsted weight yarn should suit this pattern: 120-150m/130-160 yds is recommended (depending on size chosen).
As a knitter from the Aran Islands, I love sharing our knitting heritage with knitters all over the world!
