A challenging pattern but worth the effort.
Very warm, ribbed scarf in three variations: one easy and playful with wavy edges, another no-nonsense and manly with straight edges and straight ribbed borders, and the last one complicated and stunning with slanting almond shapes.
Each version can be done in any yarn (from cobweb to bulky), any tension (from lacy to dense and warm), and any size (as scarf, wrap, or stole).
To make scarves exactly like the samples in the top picture, you would need * 200g (400m/440yards) of Cascade 220 for an Almond Scarf I (dark brown in picture) sized 126x19cm / 49½x7½”, * 250g (580m/635yards) Baby Cashmere Merino Silk DK by Sublime for an Almond Scarf II (unisex version, pale brown in picture) sized 122x23cm / 48x9”, or * 300g (606m/660yards) Ianthe by Louisa Harding for an Almond Scarf III (blueish-green in picture) sized 143x21.5cm / 56¼x8½”.
The first two versions of the scarf are both written and charted, the third version (with the slanting leaves) is written only.
Three Almond Scarves is a downloadable knitting pattern collection featuring three distinct variations of a ribbed scarf design. Created by independent designer Dagmar Mora, this intermediate-level project offers knitters the flexibility to create three different aesthetic styles from a single pattern foundation. Each variation maintains the warm, ribbed construction while presenting unique visual characteristics through edge treatments and stitch patterning.
Each of the three scarf variations can be customized according to individual preferences and available materials. The pattern accommodates different yarn weights, from delicate cobweb-weight yarn to substantial bulky-weight options. Knitters can also adjust tension to create either lacy, open-textured versions or dense, warm scarves depending on desired finished characteristics. The pattern scales to multiple finished sizes, allowing crafters to create a standard scarf, a larger wrap, or an oversized stole.
This intermediate-level project employs fundamental and intermediate knitting techniques. The core construction uses ribbed stitch patterns to create the characteristic texture and structure. The pattern incorporates several key stitch abbreviations and techniques including:
The pattern is designed to work with any yarn weight, providing specific yarn brand recommendations and yardage amounts for the sample scarves shown in the pattern photographs. Knitters should consult the detailed instructions within the PDF for exact yarn specifications used in each pictured variation. The pattern requires standard knitting needles appropriate to the chosen yarn weight, with needle size selection depending on desired fabric density and drape.
Rated as intermediate difficulty, this pattern assumes knitters have mastered basic knitting fundamentals including cast-on methods, knit and purl stitches, and basic increases and decreases. The third variation with slanting almond shapes requires comfort with more complex stitch manipulations and pattern reading, making it the most challenging of the three options.

Accurate easy to follow pattern for 3 lovely scarves. I gave them as gifts and sadly did not take a picture. I will make more scarves with this pattern of 3 scarves.
