Sunanami Pullover

“Sunanami”, sand waves in Japanese, is a boxy pullover with a wavy lace pattern on the lower body. First, the right and left saddle shoulder panels are worked separately with Knot pattern, then stitches are picked up for the back and front along the panel edges. German short rows are used to shape the shoulders, then the front and back of the pullover are worked back and forth separately to the underarm with Sunanami pattern. They are joined to be worked in the round in one piece to the hem. The sleeves are worked top down in the round after the body is finished, with Knot pattern running down from the shoulder saddles.
