Product Description
These mitts are designed to use those beautiful skeins of variegated DK weight yarn that I love to buy and stroke, but am never quite sure what to make with. The mitts feature a slipped stitch cable pattern that breaks up pooling beautifully, really letting the yarn shine.
The Shake It Up mitts are knitted in the round from the cuff up, starting with a 1 x 1 rib cuff, then the main body of the mitt features the slipped cable stitch pattern, with a plain thumb gusset worked at the same time. The mitts are finished with 1 x 1 rib at the top of both the hand and the thumb. The cable pattern is worked without using a cable needle.
The purple mitts are knitted in Artesano Hand Painted Alpaca Blend DK in Grape Harvest, which is no longer available.
