Leannán Shawl

Leannán means sweetheart or darling in Scottish/Irish Gaelic, which I found to be the perfect description for this shawl. The slipped and cabled stitches look like hearts. I love how the variation in the yarn really shows with the slipped stitches.

YARN 1,100 yards (1,005 meters) ~300 grams of fingering weight yarn

NEEDLES US 5 (3.75mm) / 32” (80 cm needle) or longer

NOTIONS Tapestry needle Stitch Marker Scissors Cable Needle

GAUGE 20 stitches and 27 garter bumps = 4 inches (10 cm) in blocked garter

Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge if necessary!

SIZE 84” wide by 36” deep (213 cm wide by 91 cm deep) but easily customizable.
