Sizes: S(child), M(woman),L(man or large-headed woman), head circumference 50cm/20", 55cm/22", 60cm/24" If you want to make smaller or larger sizes, you'd need thinner or thicker yarn and needles.
yarn: 250 yards Garnstudio Drops Brushed Alpaca (held double) or 250(yards ColourMart Cashmere 2/7.5nm Fine DK, held double Alternatives: lightweight bulky yarns, chainette yarns, air yarns, mohairs or microfibers, for example Garnstudio Drops Air, Lana Grossa Garzato. These bulky yarns will take half the yardage of the thinner yarn.
gauge: 10 stitches/12 rows = 4" in pattern stitch
needles: 6 and 7mm, 32" circular needles; I use Addi Turbos. 6 mm crochet hook
