I wanted to prove to myself that I could start and finish a project. I've never crocheted before and only ever knitted blankets so I had to learn a lot of new skills to do this. I didn't follow a pattern other than individual tutorials to learn the sunburst granny square, the standard granny square and the ribbing but I just measured an old cardigan and sized the squares accordingly. It's been a labour of love but it's done and I've fallen in love with crochet
