Verde Poncho

The poncho is knit in two pieces from the bottom up. Stockinette stitch showcases the lovely bottom border. This stitch pattern uses a cable needle to hold stitches for wrapping. Side edges have a slipped stitch edge resembling I-cord. The garter stitch mock-turtleneck finishes with an I-cord bind off.

Materials  6 Hanks BERROCO MERCADO (100 grs / 164 yds), #4140 Verde  32” Length circular knitting needle, size 10 (6 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE  16” Length circular knitting needle, size 9 (5.5 mm)  Stitch markers  Stitch holders  Spare circular needle size 10 or smaller for 3 needle bind off  Cable needle (cn)

Gauge  16 sts = 4” (10.2 cm); 20 rows = 4” (10.2 cm) in St st  TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE
