Project Overview

The Throwback Throw is a customizable knitted blanket designed by independent designer Crystal Hiatt. This downloadable knitting pattern creates a cozy throw blanket inspired by classic wool designs but crafted in soft Merino yarn for year-round versatility. Whether draped by a winter fireplace, used at fall campfires, spread across spring patios, or layered during summer air conditioning, this throw adapts to any season and setting.

Finished Dimensions

The completed throw measures 56 inches by 60 inches after blocking, making it an ideal size for personal throws and lap blankets.

Yarn Weight and Materials

The Throwback Throw is designed for Worsted and Aran weight yarns. The pattern requires approximately 1800 yards of yarn to achieve the sample size. The designer used a combination of premium yarns in the sample:

• Main Color (MC): Rowan Kid Classic in Aran weight (153 yards per 140 meters) in Pumice shade
• Contrast Color (CC): Rowan Kid Silk Haze in lace weight (229 yards per 209 meters) in Steel, held together with the main yarn (approximately 1550 yards per 1417 meters total)
• Additional Color Option: Alchemy: Yarns of Transformation Kozmos in Worsted weight (119 yards per 109 meters), with each color used in small quantities
